Over time, not only do the alternator brushes wear out, the holder itself can wear. This will affect the guidance of the brushes and the bushes are not perpendicular to the slip ring of the rotor, causing accelerated wear.

This is a complete assembly that includes springs and brushes, ready to install. BMW no longer offers this part but this is a perfect reproduction replacement part.
